Caney is an artistic creation space located in the Freixes building in L’Hospitalet, proposing an alternative to contemporary models of cultural hyperproductivity. Inspired by Taíno cacique houses, the project reclaims forms of gathering linked to care, collective memory, and community building. Through workshops, laboratories, and multidisciplinary practices, the project integrates somatic, material, and culinary knowledge from ecofeminist and decolonial perspectives. Caney functions as a space for experimentation where artistic creation engages in dialogue with sustainable forms of coexistence and collaborative methodologies centered on listening, territory, and community ties.
