Gathering in Pamplona

Territorio(s) en plural is a programme of gatherings and collaborative work that seeks to recognise, connect and strengthen the migrant and racialised cultural fabric present across different territories of Spain.
Spain has a broad local cultural ecosystem made up of artists, cultural practitioners, collectives and organisations from diverse backgrounds who create, produce, organise and generate community and knowledge in the places where they live. Their practices enrich cultural languages, narratives and forms of participation, although they do not always have equal access to resources, networks, programming and recognition spaces, or to the places where decisions are made.
Through this initiative, we aim to connect experiences, identify existing capacities and resources, and build new alliances that strengthen the collective capacity of people working in culture from a migrant and anti-racist perspective.
Fes! Cultura’s expansion across Spain seeks to connect these learnings and capacities between territories and begin building a broader community around this shared purpose.
Who is it for?
Territorio(s) en plural is aimed particularly at individuals, projects, organisations and institutions connected to migrant and racialised culture in Pamplona and Navarre, as well as other actors within the cultural ecosystem interested in strengthening diversity, participation and cultural rights.

- Schedule: Thursday 1 October, from 5 pm to 8:30 pm, and Friday 2 October, from 9:30 am to 2 pm

Programme
The programme combines open conversations, presentations of local experiences, participatory dynamics and collective working spaces to encourage mutual understanding, identify shared challenges and generate new connections and alliances.
Day 1 · Gathering
A first afternoon to get to know one another, share experiences and bring together projects and cultural actors from the area. A space to discover which practices are currently active, what needs and capacities we share, and to begin weaving connections that strengthen Pamplona’s migrant cultural fabric.
5:00 pm · Opening
Welcome by Daniel Franco from Graviola Estudio, a collaborating organisation in the development of Territorio(s) en plural in Pamplona. Introduction to the local context, the participants and the programme of the two-day gathering.
5:15 pm · Fes! Cultura – Territorio(s) en plural
Presentation of Fes! Cultura, its work and approach, and the framework of Territorio(s) en plural: an initiative to recognise and connect the migrant cultural fabric, strengthen relationships and expand opportunities for participation, collaboration and advocacy.
5:30 pm · Building the future: the migrant cultural fabric in Pamplona
An open conversation to explore and share different perspectives on Pamplona’s migrant cultural ecosystem.
Drawing on the experience of artists, associations and projects already working in the area, we will discuss the practices shaping this ecosystem, the barriers affecting the participation and recognition of its actors, and the experiences that are paving the way forward.
Building the future means collectively considering the conditions needed to strengthen this cultural fabric and recognising that the culture and the country we inhabit are also shaped by these trajectories, practices and communities.

A participatory activity to get to know one another, share experiences and identify common interests and needs among participating projects and cultural actors.
7:50 pm · Shared wall
A collective tour of the project wall to discover who is involved, what they do, what they can offer and what they are looking for. An informal space to continue conversations and explore potential collaborations among participants.
Music and refreshments.
8:30 pm · End of the day
Day 2 · Collective capacity
A morning of collaborative work to analyse the challenges and opportunities facing the migrant cultural fabric and collectively imagine a more diverse, fair and representative future.
Drawing on local experience, we will seek to identify concrete alliances and actions that can strengthen participation, recognition and the capacity for advocacy, connecting the work developed in Pamplona with a broader network of cultural actors and territories across Spain.

Welcome by Daniel Franco from Graviola Estudio, a brief recap of the previous day and an introduction to the participating institutions and cultural actors.
10:00 am · Cultural rights: for whom?
A presentation of a framework for approaching cultural participation from an anti-racist and intercultural perspective, led by Fes! Cultura.
We will begin with a key question: who can participate in culture, under what conditions, and with what capacity to make decisions?
From there, we will share some key ideas for thinking about programming, project design and cultural action through the lenses of diversity, recognition and equal opportunities.
10:30 am · Collective capacity I
Participatory table discussions to identify the barriers, conditions and opportunities that influence the effective exercise of cultural rights.
Drawing on the experience of projects, cultural actors and institutions, we will consider how to expand participation, recognition and decision-making capacity, and which alliances and actions can contribute to a more diverse and equitable cultural ecosystem.
12:00 pm · Coffee and connections
A break to explore the project wall and encourage informal conversations among participants.
12:30 pm · Collective capacity II
A collective sharing session to exchange learnings, prioritise proposals and identify concrete alliances and actions that can strengthen the migrant cultural fabric and give continuity to the connections created during the gathering.
1:30 pm · Continuities
Closing of the gathering and presentation of next steps and opportunities for collaboration.

We are a community of creators, artists, cultural mediators, students and cultural professionals committed to collective processes of learning, creation and production, placing the voices and experiences of migrants and racialised people in Spain at the centre.
Through different lines of action, we promote the training and support of cultural projects, the creation of spaces for encounter and connection, the production of knowledge and tools, and the activation of advocacy processes aimed at building more diverse, open and democratic cultural ecosystems.
